Our mission is to explain health clearly and accurately, using the best available evidence. This policy explains how we create, review, and update our content.
Sources we use
Our articles are based on reliable sources, including:
- International and national health bodies, such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the NHS, the US National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the CDC
- Clinical guidelines from professional organisations, such as the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association, and endocrinology societies
- Peer-reviewed research published in reputable medical journals
We link to our sources within each article and list key sources at the end. We avoid relying on single small studies, press releases, or commercial sources for health claims.
How we write
- We use plain language and explain medical terms.
- We explain what a topic is, what it means for you, and when to see a doctor.
- Where experts or guidelines disagree, such as different blood pressure thresholds, we say so.
- We avoid sensational headlines, fear-based language, and exaggerated claims.
Updates and accuracy
Health guidance changes. We review our content regularly and update it when new guidelines or significant evidence appear. Each article shows the date it was last updated.
Corrections
If you find an error, please email writerethanwilson@gmail.com. We review every report and correct confirmed errors promptly. Significant corrections are noted in the article.
Use of AI
We may use AI tools to assist with research, outlining, or editing. Every article is reviewed, fact-checked against trusted sources, and approved by a human editor before publication.
Independence and advertising
Our editorial content is independent. Advertisers and sponsors do not influence what we write or recommend. Sponsored content and affiliate links, if any, are always clearly labelled.
Health tools
Our free calculators use widely accepted formulas and guideline ranges. They provide general information only and are not diagnostic tools.
Not medical advice
Our content is for general education and does not replace advice from a qualified health professional. Please read our Disclaimer.
